For 25 years Arts Etobicoke’s EDGE: Youth Art Show has offered high-school-aged youth a non-juried opportunity to showcase their artwork alongside their peers in a professional exhibition setting. Each year, the show features artwork from hundreds of students and dozens of schools. In addition to exhibiting in a professional space, EDGE: Youth Art Show gives youth the opportunity to meet their peers, get feedback from professional artists, and network in the arts community.

We are excited to celebrate this incredible milestone- 25 years of the EDGE: Youth Art Show! This year, teachers will have the opportunity to showcase student artwork both in-person at the Artscape Youngplace Hallway Galleries and in an online gallery. In addition, we are excited to bring back our online workshops, professional development opportunities, and a virtual exhibition where visitors will be able to curate their own show!

To celebrate our EDGE: Youth Art Show 25th anniversary, we are also giving students more opportunity to have their voice heard and share their perspective on life in our great city. There will be a section of the exhibition dedicated to the theme Life in the City: Movement, Gathering and Belonging. Our online Be The Curator feature will allow students the opportunity to curate their own show from the digital submissions around the same theme. Prizes will be awarded to students for in-person and online submissions.

The Edge: Youth Art Show is a free program. Financial contributions help Arts Etobicoke continue to offer free and accessible art programs. If you are a teacher and your school is able to contribute financially to support student initiatives, please indicate in the form linked below.
