The Annual Juried Art Show is a group show by Arts Etobicoke, which is an opportunity for Etobicoke artists and members of the organization to showcase their works. Artworks are submitted based on a chosen theme and artists are selected by an esteemed panel of jury members.
In 2020, we introduced an exciting interactive digital exhibition for our Shifting Environs exhibition, which showcased local artists whose works engage with environmental issues and speak to the ongoing climate crisis. In the interest of inclusivity, every submission we received was included as part of an online exhibition where viewers could select their favourite works and curate their own show. The exhibition was so popular and we received so many incredible curated shows from visitors that we decided to do it again for our 2021 EDGE: Youth Art Show and we will be launching an interactive feature for this year’s Juried Art Show as well.
This year’s exhibition is entitled Through the Window… and is a reflection of our collective experiences this past year as we strive to process and adapt to an ever-changing world while trying to stay safe indoors. The exhibition will run from April 14 – May 29 with a virtual reception on Wednesday, May 5. Our Storefront Gallery remains closed to the public but we hope to make in-person viewings available by appointment once it is safe to do so. You can now see all of the amazing artworks in our Through the Window… Online Gallery! Thank you to our jurors Lee Petrie, Sharon Zarita, and Nicolas Sanchez and congratulations to our 2021 Juried Art Show artists!
