Saturday Art Class, Spoken Word Workshop Series with Tanya Neumeyer

Due to the spread of COVID 19 and our responsibility to our patrons and artists, we have decided to move this event to an online forum. You can check back to this event page on the day of the event and streaming instructions will be posted. Thank you for continuing to engage with Arts Etobicoke during these uncertain times and for meeting these challenges as opportunities to engage with the arts in a new and exciting way.

Arts Etobicoke is offering an online spoken word workshop series with Tanya Neumeyer on Instagram Live!  Try out three creative writing exercises at home with poet Tanya Neumeyer. Using prompts and thoughtful questions, Tanya will guide you through these interactive activities. You’ll be invited to share what you come up with through the chat or by joining through video. Bring a pen and paper, and join us in this online workshop at 11am on Saturday.

Tanya Neumeyer is a poet and educator committed to access and equity.  As a Toronto based poet who facilitates spoken word workshops, Tanya has more than 10 years of experience as a professional poet and continues to innovate. Tanya is a Toronto Poetry Slam organizer, a member of the League of Canadian Poets and has worked with the Ontario Arts Council’s Artist in Education program, Louder Than A Bomb Toronto, and TDSB Creates. Tanya’s first book, Piecing It Together, was published in 2009 as a chapbook by Thee Hellbox Press, a printing house specializing in innovative, hand-made books. Tanya is currently working on a third chapbook called Please Bring Me.
