Arts Etobicoke in partnership with Delta Family Resource Centre is thrilled to present Arts in Wincott Park – a FREE series of arts activities and workshops for the residents of Kingsview Village – Westway community. 

Sumera will lead participants through Latin Dance Fusion workshops where they will learn beginner Salsa, Merengue, and Boogaloo steps to fun Latin and Hip-hop songs ranging from Kali Uchis to Bruno Mars. Workshops will contain a warm-up and cool-down, easy-to-follow movements, practice, and group performance time. This class is for ages 10-15.

 

Sumera Garcia-Quadri is a dance instructor, fitness specialist, and the creator of a community-based company Fusion Cardio Toronto. She holds a B.A. Degree from York University and has more than 7 years of experience working in health and sports charities and community arts projects. Her childhood dance training consisted of HipHop and Jazz. With her Pakistani aunt’s support, she began learning Latin dances at the age of 13 and has continued to train with Toronto and New York instructors in Salsa, Pachanga, Cha Cha, and other genres. Her certifications include: Fitness Instructor Specialist (FIS), Children’s Fitness Coach, Pre/Post Natal Fitness, Zumba Fitness, Pound Fitness, and has NCCP FMS and CPR training.
