Here I Am: A PhotoVoice Project is a participatory photography workshop for young and senior adults with ASD and other developmental disabilities and will be offered in partnership with Arts Etobicoke. Over 4 weekly sessions, participants will meet online to strengthen basic and intermediate camera skills, learn more about the creative and technical fundamentals of photography, and ultimately collaborate on a community-based photo project that explores the themes of identity, family, and community as it relates to living with a disability. The main objectives of the project include giving participants an opportunity to tell important stories that reflect their lived experiences; to amplify their voices and perspectives through photography, and to engage in the planning and creation of a public art display rooted in community space.
