Arts Etobicoke in partnership with Delta Family Resource Centre is thrilled to present Arts in Wincott Park – a FREE series of arts activities and workshops for the residents of Kingsview Village – Westway community. 

The program will offer two sessions of an hour and a half each from 3:30 pm -6:30 pm every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. The sessions will be conducted in safe and small groups at Wincott Park. All Health & Safety protocols will be in place. Each session will have a maximum of 7 participants and priority will be given to residents of KVW neighbourhood.

In the event of cancellation of the one or more sessions due to severe weather or other unforeseen circumstances, the event will be rescheduled for the subsequent Monday or Tuesday.

 

Intro to Watercolour Painting with Maureen Da Silva 

In this class, participants will have a chance to work “en plein air” style (outdoor painting) and get a quick introduction to the fun of watercolour painting. We focus our subject on the natural landscape around us, and look at a few different techniques to achieve effects in watercolour.

We have two back to back sessions of the same workshop in order to accommodate more participants. However, each workshop will only have 7 participants so please register below to book your spot.

Mandala Painting with Yusra Mukhtar 

Lose yourself in the meditative and geometric designs of Mandala painting. Participants will be instructed to make repetitive patterns and motifs using a burst of colours.

Making Objects with Clay with Marjan Verstappen 

Make air dry clay sculpture inspired by the natural world. This workshop focuses on a range of basic sculptural techniques. Make something beautiful you can take home afterwards.

Fabric-Inspired Greeting Cards with Sharon Zarita

Recycle your old scarves and other pieces of clothes into handmade cards for your loved ones.  You will get to work with African prints and incorporate them into designs of your choice. A complete cultural connection!
