Mimico Children's Choir

Jennifer Robinson, Director, Senior Choir
Kim Schemeit, Director, Junior Choir

Beginning our eighth season of music-making this fall, the Mimico Children’s Choir is an affordable, inclusive, community-based children's choir. The Choir has two age divisions (grades 1-4 and grades 4-7) and rehearses once a week for an hour (Thursdays 3:45 - 4:45) September through May at Mimico Baptist Church. We offer a simple snack (included in choir fees) each week before rehearsal begins.

The Annual Spring Concert is the Choir’s main performance of the year. The Choir also performs regularly in the community for events such as the Christmas Tree-Lighting in Mimico Square, concerts for seniors facilities, community organizations, special school assemblies and for occasional church services at Mimico Baptist Church. In December 2012 the choir initiated an ecumenical Christmas Carol Concert including other local choirs, church leaders and congregations, which continued with a second annual "Christmas in Mimico" event in December 2013.

The Choir is committed to community-building, giving children of all backgrounds and income levels a sense of teamwork and belonging through rehearsals and performances together.
