Reuse, recycle...and make ART!

Through this 6-week creative exploration into the art of making, children ages 6-9 collect the evidence of their everyday activities – letters, bus tickets, shopping bags, food wrappers - and recycle these “throw-away items” into art.

Arts educator Ina Puchala leads the class in learning drawing, painting, collage and assemblage as means of expression. Using examples of historical and contemporary artists’ work, the fundamentals of line, colour, shape, space, texture, and composition are introduced. Demos and exercises support the art fundamentals.
