Kick-off Workshop Day: Friday Aug 20, 3-5pm
Main Event: Sat, Aug 21, 4pm-8pm
Albion Library Parking Lot, 1515 Albion Road
(across the street from the mall)

Headlined by Juno-award-winning hip hop duo Ghetto Concept and R&B sensation Kim Davis, the urbanNOISE Festival celebrated its 5th year as a free, all-ages urban arts festival organized by young people in the heart of Rexdale / Jamestown in North Etobicoke.

This two-day festival kicked off on Friday, August 20 with free urban arts workshops for youth inside the Albion Library from 3pm-5pm.

The headlining acts were joined on stage by a multitude of talented local performers including JJ Money, Mista Bourne, Theo 3 and the ABS Breakdancing Crew, as well as young Rexdale / Jamestown residents looking to showcase their skills in the presence of established artists.

In addition to music, the Festival featured a number of activities including a one-of-a-kind graffiti T-shirt giveaway by Studio 32, fashion show, graffiti workshop, African drum and dance workshop, dunk tank, games, prizes, barbeque and more.

A joint venture with Expect Theatre, urbanNOISE creates a platform for youth to speak out against violence in their communities.  Now in its fifth year, the project includes a free Youth Training Program and Festival that promotes leadership, unity and social change in the culturally diverse communities of Rexdale/Jamestown, located in North Etobicoke.
