The Storefront Gallery at Arts Etobicoke is seeking submissions for its Fall Juried Show, entitled The *New* exhibition. The competition is open to artists working in any genre living or working in Etobicoke.

The winner of the Juried Art Show receives a solo show at the galley and a $500 cash award. Two additional merit awards will be handed out of $200 each. 

This years jurors are:

1) Melissa Poliah, General Manager, Mayberry Fine Arts. Melissa oversees all aspects of gallery operations, appraisals and advises on collection growth for both historical and contemporary Canadian art at Mayberry Fine Arts. She has over 15 years of experience in arts administration, fine art sales and organizing exhibitions by emerging, mid-career and established Canadian artists.

2) Tazeen Qayyum, Contemporary Artist. Trained as a miniature painter in the South Asian tradition, Tazeen continues to explore new materials and processes through mediums such as drawing, installation, sculpture, video and performance. She has exhibited both nationally and internationally and her works are part of many private and public collections.

3) Astrid Ho, Contemporary Artist.  Astrid is a Hong Kong-born, Toronto-based visual artist focusing on printbased works, and print installations. She was the Open Studio Print Sales and Archive Manager from 2003-18 and is an artist member of Open Studio.

Artists are permitted to submit up to three works. Application must be members of Arts Etobicoke to apply. Annual membership includes access to the Call for Proposals for the Fall and Spring Juried Art Show and access to free art classes, workshops and lectures.  Please visit our membership page to become a member. 

Deadline for submissions is September 14, 2018, 4pm

The exhibition will run from November 5 - Dec. 19, 2018, with an opening reception on Wednesday, November 14.

How to Apply
Please fill out an application at the link listed below. 

All applications must be received no later than September 14 at 4pm and include an image of the work submitted. Each artist may submit up to three pieces for consideration. Images can be no larger than 600px wide. Application requires final dimensions, medium and price.

Works selected for the exhibition must be dropped off at the gallery in person between October 29th - 31th. Works that are delivered late to the venue for hanging may not be included in the exhibit.

Opening Reception: November 14, 2018, 5pm - 8pm

Terms for All Artwork
Only original work (no copies or reproductions) may be submitted.

All works accepted to the show must be ready for display by being dry to the touch and ready to be hung, mounted, or installed. The Gallery reserves the right to reject unacceptably framed or presented work.

If an artwork is technology or new media based, all equipment must be provided to the gallery at the expense of the artist and with clear instructions.

At the close of the exhibition, unsold work must be picked up, or have arrangements made for pick-up, by December 20-21, 2018. Storage is not available at the gallery.

No entry may be withdrawn once it has been accepted and selected work must remain in the gallery for the duration of the show.

Works are not required to be for sale however, if works are for sale, The Gallery will receive a 30% commission on any sales.

All entries will be juried and the decision of the jurors is final.
