Call for Proposals for Exhibition

Call for Proposal is now closed. Please return to the website in August 2019 to apply for the 2019/2020 year. 

The Storefront Gallery of Arts Etobicoke is seeking Proposals for Exhibitions from artists, collectives and curators at all levels of their careers for the 2018-2019 gallery season. We welcome proposals from artists exhibiting in all genres, but those exhibiting artists must live or work in Etobicoke. The gallery is 450 sq/ft with 70 linear feet of wall space, 8’ ceilings and a large glass storefront that faces busy Dundas West. The Storefront Gallery will receive a 30% commission on all sales resulting from the exhibition. Works on view are not required to be for sale

Applications must include:

  • Description of your proposed exhibition (300-word max)
  • Artist bio (300-word max)
  • Artist CV
  • 3 - 5 photos

The Storefront Gallery will provide:

  • Installation and lighting of work
  • Artwork labels
  • Digital invitation
  • Promotion on AE website and social media
  • Gallery monitoring
  • Reception

Applicants must be members of Arts Etobicoke to apply. Annual membership allows members to apply to two annual Juried Art Exhibitions and privileged access to free classes, workshops and lectures. To learn more about becoming a membership, please visit our membership page.

About the Gallery

The Storefront Gallery at Arts Etobicoke is a public art gallery with a mandate to exhibit the work of contemporary artists with a connection to the Etobicoke community.

The Storefront Gallery is committed to presenting engaging and impactful work in all genres, providing a platform for risk-taking for emerging and mid-career artists, and inciting conversation between Etobicoke's flourishing contemporary art community and the broader city community.

And as a membership-based community organization, the gallery is dedicated to providing a platform for the narratives and perspectives of Etobicokes socially and culturally diverse community.


The Storefront Gallery of Arts Etobicoke is located at 4893a Dundas Street West, just west of Islington Avenue. Free parking is available at the back of the building.
